$2,500 For Four Nights?

A hefty price for a much-needed getaway

Going against all semblance of personal finance advice, I am going ahead and shelling out over $600 per night for my daughter and me to hang out with my brother in Miami Beach, Florida for less than a week, just four short nights, during my daughter’s spring break next week.

We have reserved a unit in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach nearly identical to the link below on Airbnb. For some reason, the cleaning fee on ours is higher and since we reserved a unit on the top floor, it is slightly more expensive.

I share the above not to gloat at all, but more in shame.

My own home’s mortgage payment is a mere $536 per month now although I have still procrastinated for the past three or so years in refinancing. With interest rates about to be raised multiple times here in 2022, I should really do this soon. But I have not for many reasons.
