As I have become older, I sometimes prefer fall over summer. I cannot believe that I just wrote those words, but notice that I did use the qualifier “sometimes.”
As an avid walker, let me tell you that walking at least seven miles per day in ninety-plus-degree heat with a high level of humidity is not the most comfortable thing that a middle-aged man can do. 🚶
My better half has long preferred fall to the summer, but we are different people and I grew up going to beaches on a regular basis while she did not. I do not wish to dish on her, but I still go to beaches and, while not exactly proud of my physique, I am not ashamed of it either. She would not go onto a beach in a bathing suit for anything.
Whichever season you prefer, if you live in a place with seasons that is, fall is now here whether we like it or not.
One of the nice things about fall, besides the abundance of pumpkin-flavored items, is the beautiful fall colors that one can observe while driving, biking, or walking in natural areas.
