In this day and age, writing about a race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, political stance, gender, gender identification, body type, neighborhood or even a team that is not your own is something akin to an invitation to criticism, hate, and in some cases, people getting arrested or losing their jobs.
Not so much when it comes to high praise, which this is.
No, I am not of Chinese descent and have never been there, either. I am friends with two business owners who hail from China and, yes, they are both restaurateurs. The massage business that I patronize and cannot wait to return to when I feel safe to do so is also owned and operated by Chinese nationals.
So just like many a person has listed out people who they know or are tangentially friends with who are Jewish when I disclose to them that I am, I too disclose my associates of Chinese descent, all of whom embody the immigrant work ethic to a tee.
What I do not know is how much money they save although one of the two aforementioned restaurant owners recently told me that he had saved quite a bit over the years for situations just like this when business revenues plummet.
