Haggling Over My Father-in-Law’s “Estate”

This is one of those “I just have to get it off my chest” stories.

I’m so freaking frustrated that I do not even know where to begin.

Then again, why don’t I just begin by plainly stating that my late father-in-law has royally screwed his two children, one of which is my wife for the last twenty-five years?

I now find myself haggling with his widow’s brother, who seems to be the only one between his widow, her son (who is about my age), and her brother who has some sense. He’s a great guy, it’s just that I do not appreciate having to discuss and “haggle” over things with him.

Why the words “fighting” and “haggle”?

It’s because this man never updated his will and simply left things for me to sort out, all while telling me “maybe I should just put some faith in Patti [his wife].”

Well, Patti is about as useful as a sack of potatoes, assuming that the sack does nothing but watch Trump TV and smoke weed that her son buys for her to ease her pain. Not that I have a problem with the weed, but this woman had two prior husbands, another man that she lived with but never married (and inherited his “stuff”) before marrying my wife’s father about ten years ago.
