This past July, I received a series of emails from Fundrise, a platform that I began investing with in March of 2021 when I decided to put some very lazy money to work.

Straight from its website, “Fundrise is a first-of-its-kind online investment platform that creates a simple way for individuals to access institutional-quality alternative investments like real estate and venture capital, without the high fees and mark-ups associated with traditional channels.

Fundrise is designed for long-term investors, and we often describe ourselves as the tortoise, as opposed to the hare. We’re content to take our time as we play the long game on behalf of our investors.”

I first read about it a few years ago when one of my top three bloggers, the Financial Samurai, wrote about it. After reading a story on this platform by Lauren Como about her investment in it, I decided to dive in.
