I just shared that my own investments have declined in value by about $70,000 since this year began. I do not use the word “lost” because I have no plans on selling any of these for a loss, with the possible exception of some of my daughter’s college savings, within the next few years.
It is also not an “I told you so” because I had been circling around becoming a cryptocurrency investor, myself. If you want to get very technical, I do own a small slice of the market, like less than a billionth of a billionth, having mined Helium in my garage for the past six or so weeks.
The current crash was brought to my attention yesterday, which led me to read multiple stories on other websites and watch a few videos detailing the massive $1 Trillion crypto meltdown that has happened over the past few days.
A millennial crypto dude who I sat with in the lunchroom just yesterday told me how he has “lost” over $100,000 worth of crypto over the past few days.
I reminded him that he has only just recently turned thirty and that he should not feel so…
