It has taken me years to learn not to confuse activity with productivity. As a strong believer in working smarter rather than harder, I have improved dramatically in that regard but still have a ways to go.
In my career (economic development), the powers that be often believe that a high amount of activity will result in more success, but I prefer to laser-focus on business prospects that have a higher likelihood of actually coming to the city and succeeding.
