As it approaches 5 PM this Saturday, I feel compelled to share something with you, whoever you may be.

This will not be particularly uplifting, but it creates a sense of accountability on my part.

While at work yesterday afternoon, I formulated a number of plans and things that I wanted to accomplish over the period of that time through this coming Monday.

Because I am typically such a workaholic, I am taking this coming Monday off. It just so happens to be Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which may be a holiday for school employees and students in Illinois as well as Federal and State workers, but it is not one for me.

Anyway, after taking a grand total of only six-and-a-half days off all of 2020, a year that none of us will ever forget, I will be taking one this Monday and, moreover, intend to get my sore body massaged during the time when I would normally be suffering through a meeting of some sort.

So at 4:45 PM Central Time on Saturday, January 16, 2021, shortly after hitting the 14,000 step mark (my daily goal for this month), I hereby share some, but not all, of the things that I was going to do over these days, some of which I enjoy, like having our son choose dinner last night, sipping some sake, and getting a massage, while others are less enjoyable, like sending an extra $6,300+ to our mortgage lender…
