This is one of those things that you could categorize as a middle-class issue.

That issue being that both of our children have been engaged with remote learning since this pandemic began. Our son is somehow doing his best to wrap up numerous projects that must be completed before receiving his college diploma later this month and our daughter is working towards completing her junior year of high school including taking five, yes five, AP exams this week.

Unlike millions of those less fortunate than ourselves, we have a household full of so-called “smart” devices including iPads, laptops, a desktop, and four smartphones.

Both children are well clued-in on what needs to get done and both are well on their way toward doing so for all I know. My wife is the disciplinarian between the two of us and always has been and always will be. She’s keeping on top of those two, making sure they continue completing assignments although our son basically takes care of them on his own. More accurately, she gets on our daughter and frequently checks our daughter’s progress or lack thereof on the Infinite Campus app.

That said, as our household’s primary breadwinner, bill payer, and CFO, I am now a mere two small $318 payments away from having our son’s hundred K — plus undergraduate education paid in full. Yes, folks, your humble middle-class wannabe…
