Writing is an art that demands creativity, authenticity, and fearlessness.

It requires us to break free from the shackles of perfectionism and embrace the raw, unfiltered nature of our ideas.

In the realm of writing, few philosophies capture this spirit better than the concept of the “vomit onto the keyboard” draft. This approach encourages writers to set aside self-doubt, unleash their thoughts without inhibition, and discover the true essence of their work.

The metaphorical use of the word “vomit” in this context highlights the raw, unfiltered nature of your first draft or, in some cases, your final one.

Just as vomit can be messy, unstructured, and spontaneous, this method urges writers to approach their initial drafts with a similar mindset. This allows you to disregard your internal editor and allow the words to flow freely onto the page, without fear of judgment or self-criticism.

This approach is intended to liberate the creative energy within us and enable us to explore our ideas without restrictions.

You need not read any further for an example of this, as I am currently vomiting, or puking if you prefer, words onto my keyboard and will submit them to this fine…
