The Hardest Things About Investing

I just read a Twitter thread about the difficulties with investing and found it interesting. So I thought I’d share some of those thoughts.

There are many reasons why you should invest and I will not detail them here. If you are reading this story in this publication, you already know many reasons why. But if you want just one sentence, it is so all of your income does not depend on trading hours of your labor for pay.

Personally, I entered the investing realm over a quarter-century ago and have achieved mixed results, with far more good than bad. Anyone who invests in a variety of stocks for that long of a time is nearly certain to come out ahead. One investment made on my daughter’s behalf increased by more than $50,000!

This is the challenge that my twenty-three-year-old son is facing now. I also have an eighteen-year-old daughter.
