What Are Your Cash, Credentials & Culture?
I think a lot, most likely too much, about social class issues.
Specifically, why some people I know were able to lift themselves from harsh, decidedly lower-class situations early on in life to ultimately achieve great success while others who were provided every possible leg-up in childhood squandered away their potential and never amounted to much.
Having grown up in Evanston, attended college at UW-Madison, served as a probation officer for nearly eight years, and then worked with thousands of businesses as an economic developer ever since I have witnessed firsthand the entire gamut.
I know people, including friends, who were raised with the proverbial silver spoon since day one yet found it difficult or, in some cases, impossible to achieve anything worthwhile on their own.
