Why I Paid My Daughter $38 Today

My hard-working, try-hard, rule-abiding middle-class family had quite a weekend let me tell you.

For the life of me, I may never be able to understand how anybody could possibly have a difficult time coming up with ideas to write about, especially during this pandemic. For many of us, we now spend more time consuming content from all directions and various types of media than ever before. Every one of us has unique stories to tell, whether this crisis hit or not.

It would be a long story on its own for me to describe where I gather mine from, ranging from my Google feed to my Yahoo! feed to my Twitter feed to my wife’s Facebook feed to the hundreds or perhaps thousands of blogs and email newsletters that I follow. I also lie in bed every weekday morning listening to the horrible news constantly reported on WBBM 780 feeling like I just want to pull the covers over my head, turn my phone off and close myself off from the world.

However, as a responsible family man down to my very DNA and a responsible economic developer, I could not no matter how much I fantasize about being completely financially independent and not needing to hustle to keep my highly stressful job.

I have also continued my habit of walking throughout the crisis and most of my story ideas pop into my head while outside looking at things and…
