Yes, I agree. Another commenter mentioned that surviving to the age of 78 is the break-even point, so you would be receiving "less" than you would have had you waited.

As for me, I am neither assuming that I will survive until 78, or that social security will remain as is by 26 years from now.

I am also aiming toward receiving a pension, so TBH, I'm not counting on social security very much at all, but hope to get it since it has been deducted from every paycheck I have received for 30 years.
